Artist Statement
Kim's work is bold and fun. She celebrates color, pattern and shape, creating dynamic visual contrast within each piece . The colors she uses are vibrant; the patterns are clean and simple yet bold; and the shapes are often altered to create an sense of movement and playfulness. Kim uses both wheel thrown and hand building techniques, often combining both in the same piece.

Education
Western Michigan University Bachelor of Science in Art Apprenticeship with Potter/Sculptor David Austin

Bio
Kim Krumrey first studied ceramics at Western Michigan University. She opened her ceramics studio in 1999 after apprenticing with Potter/ Sculpture David Austin for 1 year. Since then Kim has been self taught, continually experimenting with new techniques and designs. She currently shows her work at fine galleries and participates in juried fine art fairs throughout Michigan.
